It securely holds broken pieces of mosquito coil in the same way a whole coil is held. Bought my first croc head while travelling in Cooktown,far North Queensland on my way to the top of the Cape. Found them fantastic for holding mosquito coils. When travelling, mosquito coils unfortunately get broken making them almost impossible to hold and light with the coil holder provided in the packet with coils resulting in lots of unusable and wasted coils, as they could not be held and had to be discarded. With the croc head any coil brand new or broken can be held safely, securely and fired in either a vertical or horizontal plane. Croc heads are built extremely well of heavy gauge stainless steel so they will last forever, eventually paying for them selves in savings made by using and firing broken coils and pieces of coil that would once have been thrown away but can now be safely used Rating 11 out of ten
