Outdoor Connection Brampton 3R Dome Tent

The Brampton is a three room tent that offers excellent space and headroom throughout. The two end rooms measure 210cm x 280cm and do not taper in at the ends which maximises internal space. Although large, it is simple and quick to erect. The three panels on each long side can be erected as an awning either together or singularly as can the two end doors. The Brampton is an excellent family tent.

Roomy, well ventilated well made tent.

Was looking for a large 3 room tent for a family of 5. Looked at Coleman, Black Wolf, OZtrail, and a bunch others. Wanted good quality materials and was happy to sacrifice packed space and weight. Wasn't too sure about Outdoor Connection tents, but did a lot of reading and found only favorable reviews, with many citing how good quality the materials are, especially compared to more familiar brands in the same price bracket. While the tent still has that familiar "nylon/polyester" feeling of most dome tents, its sewn together well. Has lots of good features in the main tent like cable access & Velcro to hold cables for overhead lights, etc. The bucket floor material feels really good, and while not PVC, feels like it will hold out heavy rain. Love the low dividers between rooms, so it wont become a trip hazard or have the kids tearing it easily as they hop through. Found a 3m x 6m mesh ground sheet that fits perfectly under the tent and still allows it to be pegged down. The ceiling to floor windows & doors ventilate better than most tents, so this one is unlikely to become a hothouse in a typical Aussie summer day or night. Good mesh too. Probably could do with 1 guage heavier zips on the internal windows. Couldnt find a way to tie back the main doors easily but they can be zipped all the way back out of the way. The fly feels excellent, and they have struck a good balance between thickness, quality, weight & price. The poles are really strong. Much thicker than most large dome tents, and I'm confident they will be MUCH more durable than any of the "instant/turbo/quick" setup tents I looked at, which mostly seem really flimsy and prone to failure over time. I really like the ridge pole that connects the hoop poles, and keeps the tent nice and rigid. I really considered their Aria 3 air pole tent (almost same tent as Brampton), and if it was a couple hundred less I probably would have done it. I've helped set up Coleman & Black Wolf quick setup tents, and usually only half of the inner tent is "quick", while the rest is still a more traditional setup so I don't think they save that much time at all. Setup time was pretty good and quite straight forward. Not the tent to put up and down every day, but I think 2 adults can have this up in under 20min once you've done it a few times. Really happy with the tent. I think the fly could do with some heat reflecting silver on one side. The carry bag is a great, open design with spare room also. Considering the very reasonable price, I couldn't find a better tent for the size in the same bracket. I think the Aria 3 tent would be even better but its double the price basically, but I think you can leave the fly attached when you pack up so it saves a fair bit of time but gives you big space. Hot tip -> Ditch the hammer & pegs, and buy a cheap impact driver/impact wrench, and use 200mm coach bolts with hex heads instead, and drive them into the ground. Pegs go in and out in approx 2 seconds, and are easy to re-position quickly, especially if you hit a rock.
