These Hexamine fuel tabs are very handy for basic cooking & heating water for coffee or to make water safe to drink. This form of fuel doesn't leak, you how much fuel you have left & I can supplement this with small twigs to finish cooking. Basic cooking for 1 or 2 people is where this type of fuel along with the simple stove ( pot support with fuel platform) works best. These don't smell bad like other brands. To get the best efficiency use a windshield & get the tablet close to the bottom of your pot. An upturned empty 85g tuna can works well with pocket stove. A lot lighter to carry than metho stove & fuel, gas stove & gas canister. Not expensive to try if it will work for you especially if you are just starting hiking & camping. Great Escape Camping had a good price on these hexamine fuel tablets, I use these with a small cook set & a small twig stove, 1 tablet will bring 1 cup 250ml to a boil & continue for a further minute. Quite efficient. 2-3 fuel tablets needed to make veggie soup for 2. Very pleased with these Elemental Hexamine Fuel Tablets. Service from Great Escape Camping was great.
